About Anchor Dental Centre

The Anchor Dental Centre first opened in August 2004, based at Hinchingbrooke Hospital in a Portakabin adjacent to the main building while we waited for the Oak Tree Health Centre to be constructed.

We moved to our new premises in August 2006 and at last count we have assisted approximately 7500+ patients in Huntingdon and the surrounding area.

We can now offer a wider range of treatments from line and wrinkle reduction, dental implants and teeth whitening using the ZOOM! ® System, either in surgery or with take home kits all under safe dental supervision.

3 Tier Dental Plan The Department of Health has changed the way NHS Dental Provision is commissioned, and we are not able to take on any additional NHS Patients. Prior to April 2006, all we had to do was equip a surgery, recruit a Dentist and advertise our availability, but that is no longer possible. However patients have always been able to choose some Private treatments in addition to those offered by the NHS.

We feel that due to the continued demand from the public for NHS services and the current circumstances, a third option is required. Therefore, we have introduced a three tier system, which is Platinum for Private, Gold for Independent and Silver for NHS.

Professional Dentists

Meet our dental staff

Heading up the Dental Team is owner and principal Dr Robert Ayre. Robert qualified from Liverpool University in 1979 and has been in general practice since then. He also owns 2 other dental practices in Huntingdon and Peterborough.

Resident Dentists

Sylwia Kundzicz graduated from Medical University of Bialystok, Poland, with a degree of Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) in 1994. She began working in the UK in 2005 and recently joined the team of the Anchor Dental Centre in Huntingdon.

Hamid Alashlou who joined us at the end of March 2008.Hamid has been in Practice for 10 years, and qualified in Dennmark

Clinical Nurses

Our Dental Nurses are Patricia Ashcroft, Kellie Smith, Sarah Holgate, Vilma Beckett and Lorraine McCarl. Mrs Ashcroft, Miss Smith and Miss Holgate joined us in 2005. Mrs Beckett joined us in 2006. All are experienced in Dental Nursing. Lorraine McCarl joined us in January, and has had 10 years dental nursing experience.

Dental Therapist / Hygienist

Jessica Brudenell recently joined us in April 2007. Jessica trained at Kings College Hospital in London and has worked with in dentistry for many years now.

Practice Manager

The practice manager is Jackie Smith and she is responsible for all the administration, staff duties as well as day to day running of the practice. Mrs Smith joined us in 2003.
